The Hisense Maintenance Schedule
Maintenance splits in two: the simple jobs you can do yourself, and the work that needs a technician. Here is the full schedule:
Every 2 Weeks (do it yourself)
- Wash the air filter — pull it out, rinse it, dry it, put it back
- It takes five minutes
- A dirty filter is the single most common reason a unit stops cooling
Every 3 Months (do it yourself)
- Clean the outdoor unit casing — clear leaves, dust and cobwebs
- Check the drain pipe — make sure water runs out freely
- Wipe the louvres — a damp cloth is enough
Every 6 Months (technician)
- Chemical wash — the coil is cleaned with a dedicated chemical
- Check the refrigerant — top up if the level has dropped
- Check the electrics — connections, capacitor, wiring
- Clean the blower fan — clear the dust that has built up
- Cost: RM80-150 per unit
Every 2-3 Years (technician)
- Full overhaul — every part comes off and gets cleaned individually
- Full gas replacement — flush the system and refill with fresh R32
- Compressor check — confirm it is still running efficiently
- Cost: RM200-400 per unit
